Jiangshi of Mr. Vampire
Mr. Vampire is the Hong Kong comedy-horror that established the conventions of the jiangshi film, built on the hopping corpse of Chinese folklore. Set in Republican-era China, it pits a Taoist priest and his students against one. Its success produced four sequels and many imitations.1
