Inferi are the Harry Potter series' version of the zombie: corpses animated by a Dark wizard and used as guards or soldiers. They are puppets with no mind of their own, repelled only by fire and warmth. Their main appearance is in the sixth novel, published in 2005, when Harry and Dumbledore face an army of them in a cave.12
