Herbert White (The Monkey's Paw)

In W. W. Jacobs's short story a couple use a monkey's paw that grants three wishes to call their dead son back, and something knocks at the door. The father uses the last wish before the door is opened. Stephen King planned Pet Sematary as a retelling of it, and the film Deathdream was adapted from it.12
