Solanum zombies (The Zombie Survival Guide)
Max Brooks's first book treats a zombie outbreak as a practical problem and explains how to survive one. It introduced Solanum, the fictional virus he used again in World War Z. Publishers Weekly called it an outrageous parody of a survival guide, and reviewers were unsure whether to read it as satire.1
