Myslata of Blov

Also called: Myslata the shepherd

Myslata of Blov is one of the oldest named walking dead in central Europe. The 14th-century Czech account has the dead shepherd roaming at night and calling out the names of those who are to die. Villagers dug him up, ran him through and cremated him while the corpse cried out. The name-calling, the bleeding corpse and the burning all reappear in later vampire reports from the same region.1
